Hello!!! I am Alberto, a passionate microelectronics engineer, former Industrial Engineer, now reconverted to a analog IC designer. Right now, I am happily working at GeDeC in Italy. Previously, I did my PhD designing a low-power solar energy harvester IC in San Sebastián. Before I used to live, study and work in Germany (Erfurt, Mannheim), Austria (Graz) and Poland.
Why do I write this web? I heavily support knowledge and scientific divulgation. I love sharing and spreading useful information to help others. However, due to confidentiality and copyright reasons, I am unable to share all the information I would like to.
Moreover, I love teaching. Since I was in the primary school or high school, I remember explaining math problems to my classmates. With the help of my father, who was a math teacher, I learn how to explain, reason, and help students to prepare for a specific physics or math test. Later, during my university years, I always earned my living by giving private lectures in the afternoons, on weekends and during the summer vacations.
Primarily, I taught mathematics and physics, but also electronics, chemistry, statistics, and even technical drawing. Yes, we used to learn technical drawing with a pencil, eraser, compass, rulers, and triangles. Without computers. I remember my Industrial Engineering curriculum had 2 subjects dedicated to drawing, where we learned to create impossible intersections using the dihedral system.
Back in 2010, I started this web to share my robotics interests and concerns, initially named “Die Bot Reise” and hosted on blogspot.com. Why this old name? “Die Bot Reise” was a kind of play on words in German, meaning “The Robotic Journey”. The name was given because I began the blog by writing about robotics.
Besides electronics, I love travelling, living abroad, experiencing new cultures and meeting people. I also write on my travel blog, where I share reports and commentary about my travels and living experiences, along with some tips and tricks.
In 2018, I relaunched this website as “MisCircuitos.com” introducing a new structure and design. I also removed and clean many old posts as I aim to refocus this website primarily on microelectronics and analog IC design.
I began this web by documenting the development of a 3kg sumo robot I created for the National Spanish Liga in 2009 and 2010. This includes discussions on topics such as how to make the best wheels, how to control the H-Bridge, etc. In 2012, my focus shifted to multicopters, culminating in the design, construction, and programming of a hexacopter. I.e. how to drive a brushless motor, radio, etc. This work was a significant component of my Industrial Engineering Diploma thesis in 2012, which was about multicopter technology.
Then, during my masters in Austria, I continued sharing valuable information about embedded systems, FPGAs or the beast Vivado. Moreover, I’ve been updating content about Arduino, Bluetooth and plotting real-time data. During that time I was envolved in a project related to track and plot the body-muscle tension wirelessly in real-time.
But from now on, MisCircuitos.com is going to focus on microelectronics, analog circuit design, Cadence and other relevant related topics. That’s why I moved to a new domain name with the world “Circuits” on it with a Spanish flavour.
